Expérience:
I am the founder & executive Chairperson of Fanelo Ya Mina Institute, a newly founded NGO, whose main objective is the promotion of the highest ideals of gender equality, social justice and women’s development through the active involvement of Men & Boys in order to effectively transform the individual and structural obstacles that have long undermined the opportunities for growth and advancement of women.
Prior to the decision to create the organization, I had the privilege of interacting with several influential and reputable African Women who taught me about the value of living a meaningful life which instilled in me a sense of purpose culminating in the decision to give back to the communities in need. Fanelo Ya Mina means - It‟s My Obligation.
I have more than 10 years of relevant experience in the field of Public Health & Gender where I dealt primarily with HIV & AIDS prevention, Gender Based Violence along with Men & Boys Involvement Approaches. My most recent employment was with FHI (an USAID implementing partner) on a project called ROADS, and it had been a fulfilling experience for it addressed HIV prevention among low income women & vulnerable girls.
Prior to this, I worked for Engenderhealth & Institute Promundo as their In Country Focal Person leading the USAID supported project Male Norms Initiative. The main objective of the project was to strengthen PEPFAR partner’s capacity in Mozambique by integrating gender and men involvement perspective into their HIV and AIDS programs. My ground breaking work was proven successful as it catalyzed the establishment of a national advocacy network (Men for Change) which is affiliated with the global Men Engage Alliance. I has also demonstrated impact on bringing the gender perspective to local partners HIV and AIDS programming.
Between 2001-2004, I worked for FDC- the Community Development Foundation- a local NGO founded my renowned Mrs. Graça Machel. At FDC I was involved in several efforts and capacities including Home Based Care, M&E addressing HIV prevention among sex workers & community women.

I want to take part of this network. I am a strong believer to the cause of Gender Equity Promotion as one of the approaches to deal with the most critical issues affecting women & girls therefore I would like to continue being actively involved in promoting the cause alongside other institutions and individuals that are equally capable of advancing the agenda Mozambique & the rest of the world.
